Cookie and Tracking Policy

Information on the use of cookies on our websites and apps.

When you visit our digital offerings, the details of your visit (e.g. your IP address, the website from which you visit us or the Swisscanto website you are currently visiting, including the date and duration of your visit, hereinafter referred to as «tracking data») are automatically registered. Tracking data is used to optimise the content offered on our communication channels, in particular our websites, and to provide information on how you can find out about our products and services and use them.

This Cookie and Tracking Policy describes how such tracking data is collected and handled. This Policy may be updated at any time. Please check this page regularly for the latest version.

Scope of the Cookie and Tracking Policy

This Cookie and Tracking Policy applies to Swisscanto's digital offerings, which refer to it. In particular, it applies to Swisscanto's main website swisscanto.com and subpages (hereinafter collectively referred to as the «Swisscanto website»).

For certain digital offerings, e.g. social media channels, separate applications or websites, there may be additional or different provisions for the use of tracking data. These are available on the corresponding digital offerings and take precedence in these cases.

Swisscanto has no influence over digital sites that comment on or about Swisscanto, but are not operated by Swisscanto or on its behalf. This Cookie and Tracking Policy does not apply in this case.

Which tracking technology do we use?

We use cookies in the browser and, if necessary, other types of tracking technology (hereinafter referred to as «cookies»).

Some of our cookies are technically necessary for the proper functioning of our digital offerings. It is necessary to use them for technical reasons. The other cookies are used to improve your user experience (e.g. through personalised content). You may adjust your cookie settings at any time to suit your preferences.

What do we mean by cookies and tracking SDKs and how do they work?

Cookies are small text files which are stored in your browser. This allows the digital offering (e.g. the Swisscanto website) to remember certain inputs and settings (e.g. login, language, usage, preferences and statistics) over a certain period of time.

Cookies can be set as first-party cookies by saving them on the domain of the respective website (e.g. Swisscanto website). These first-party cookies can only be read by the operators of the respective website (in this case Swisscanto). These first-party cookies are set by means of the operator's technical integrations (i.e. by Swisscanto itself) or by the integration of third-party products (e.g. Adobe Analytics).

Cookies can also be set as third-party cookies. This happens when the cookies can also be read directly by other websites and website operators. Swisscanto uses third-party cookies very sparingly and only in publicly accessible areas.

A list of cookies used through the integration of third-party products can be found in the «Which third-party cookies and tracking SDKs do we use?» section.

What data is stored and processed?

The cookies stored on the Swisscanto website with your consent read tracking data (e.g. the Swisscanto website or URL you are currently visiting, including the date and duration of your visit as well as technical data on your device such as browser, operating system and IP address). This tracking data is required for statistical purposes for the optimisation and further development of the Swisscanto website and for the display of offers and content tailored to your interests.

If you decline the use of cookies, we will only use necessary cookies on the Swisscanto website to enable the proper functioning of our digital offerings.

Tracking data does not establish links to personal identities. However, Swisscanto may merge tracking data with other data already held internally and thus possibly establish links to personal identities. If a link to a personal identity is established, Swisscanto may process this personal data in accordance with the privacy policy and, in particular, use it for the purposes described therein.

If third-party products are used for tracking on the Swisscanto website, Swisscanto will only forward pseudonymised data to these third-party providers. This data in itself does not allow the third-party providers to identify a specific person.

How long are cookies stored in your browser?

Some cookies are automatically deleted as soon as the browser session has ended or after a specified period of time. Certain cookies are permanently stored in the browser for technical reasons, unless they are deleted by users or replaced by revisiting the digital offerings.

Necessary cookies

These cookies are technically necessary for the functioning of the Swisscanto website and for the provision of the content (e.g. storage of your cookie settings or continued surfing on sub-pages). Necessary cookies cannot therefore be declined.
