As a comprehensive provider of services for occupational and private pensions, Swisscanto Pensions Ltd. decided to establish the Swisscanto 1e Collective Foundation to round off its range of pension products. The background to this move is that, due to the abolition of the minimum guarantees arising from Art. 15 FZG [Swiss Federal Act on Vesting in Pension Plans] and Art. 17 FZG, the legal framework has been created to offer a certain amount of leeway in customising investments in the supplementary part of occupational.
The Swisscanto 1e Collective Foundation is available to those with higher individual investment requirements. Employees with total wages over one and a half times the BVG upper wage limit (2018: CHF 126,900) are eligible. The innovative solution gives employees with a higher income greater personal responsibility and self-determination in their occupational pensions. Insured persons can thus actively co-design their pension according to their needs.
In the normal BVG basic insurance, there is no option to directly influence the investment strategy, which means that all insured persons have identical investments, irrespective of their personal risk requirements. For the wage portions over and above one and a half times that of the BVG upper wage limit, the Swisscanto 1e Collective Foundation now offers a high level of flexibility.
This concept of own responsibility and transparency is ushering in a new digital age when it comes to supplementary occupational pensions. The Swisscanto 1e Collective Foundation is best prepared for this challenge and can provide competent advice in all issues relating to the 2nd pillar.
