Maurizio Pedrini appointed new Head of Fixed Income in Asset Management at ZKB

Media information 15. June 2026

With effect from 1 July 2026, Maurizio Pedrini has been appointed Head of Fixed Income in the Asset Management division of Zürcher Kantonalbank. He previously served as Deputy Head of Fixed Income and Head of the Credit team. He succeeds Sébastien Zöller, who moved to the Trading division within the bank in June and now heads the Interest Rate and Credit Instruments unit.

“Maurizio Pedrini has been a valued member of our team for many years and has played a key role in the successful development of our Fixed Income business. With more than 30 years’ experience in asset management, he has helped to shape strong performance track records in Global Corporates and CoCos, developed innovative solutions such as the Corporate Hybrid Fund and driven substantial growth in the mortgage investment business. I am confident that, with his experience and commitment, Maurizio will lead the team successfully and continue to develop it further,” says Iwan Deplazes, Head of Asset Management at Zürcher Kantonalbank.

Commenting on his new role at the helm of the Fixed Income business, which manages approximately CHF 45 billion in assets, Maurizio Pedrini says: “I look forward to this new challenge and greatly appreciate the trust placed in me. I am confident that, with our dedicated and highly skilled teams, we will further expand our fixed income business in a targeted manner, strengthen our leading position in the Swiss market, and continue to grow internationally."

Maurizio Pedrini joined Zürcher Kantonalbank’s Asset Management division in 2015 as Head of Credit Fixed Income. Under his leadership, a competitively positioned international product offering has been established and a highly competent team of portfolio management specialists has been built up. Prior to that, he worked for Credit Suisse for 17 years, where he played a decisive role in shaping the development of the Fixed Income business for institutional clients in Switzerland. In his last position, he was responsible for Core Fixed Income within Asset Management.

Maurizio Pedrini is a Certified EFFAS Financial Analyst (CEFA/AZEK) and holds a Master’s degree in Economics with a specialisation in Finance, Monetary Policy and Business Cycle Theory from the University of Zurich. At the same institution, he also lectures on fixed income topics. In addition, he teaches at AZEK and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland.

He is also a member of the Swiss Bond Commission of the Swiss Financial Analysts Association (SFAA).
