Zurich, June 18, 2025 – Dr Fabian Ackermann, currently Head of Systematic Strategies in Asset Management at Zürcher Kantonalbank, is moving internally to become the new Head of Risk Management. He will succeed Etienne Perron, who is taking over as Head of Market Risk at Zürcher Kantonalbank, with effect from 1 August 2025.
Fabian Ackermann has extensive and long-standing expertise in quantitative and portfolio management and proven leadership experience. He will take up his new position on 1 August 2025. His duties as portfolio manager for overlay solutions will be taken over on an interim basis by Michael Bretscher, an experienced member of his established team, with effect from 1 August 2025. This internal solution within Zürcher Kantonalbank's Asset Management division will ensure a smooth transition in this important position. The search for a suitable successor to Fabian Ackermann as Head of Systematic Strategies is already underway.
Iwan Deplazes, Head of Asset Management, commented: «With these seamless changes in both the risk area and systematic equity strategies, continuity in asset management at Zürcher Kantonalbank is well assured. Fabian Ackermann has extensive experience in quantitative analysis, portfolio management and client relations, as well as proven leadership skills. He also has an excellent understanding of asset management and the entire network both within and outside the bank, making him the ideal candidate for the key position of Head of Risk Management.»
